STC Annual Golf Classic on April 30, 2010

The STC Annual Golf Classic at The Crosswinds Golf Club on Friday, April 30, 2010 nets $9K for students of Logistics and Transportation at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Georgia.

Twenty-six teams of 105 golfers hit the course at Crosswinds Golf Club to raise money for GSU.  At the end of the day, prizes were won by the 1st Place Team (50)  of Richard Barrow, Joey Carnes, Jeff Tucker and Al Jennings; 2nd Place Team (51) of Turtle Davis, Becky Deal, Paul Wicher and Terry Bertoch; 3rd Place Team (51)  of Finn Roden, Brad Ziegler, Pat Winters and Captain Hsu.

Closet to the pin prizes were won by James Cochran at Hole No. 2 at 13 feet and three inches and by Nick Kearns at Hole No. 12 at ten feet and eight inches.  Longest drive was won by Jim Simmons at Hole No. 9.

Seventy other golfers won door prizes by tickets drawn from a basket of all golf players.

STC thanks all the sponsors, players, companies that donated prizes and The Crosswinds Golf Club.  STC holds this annual events to award scholarships to junior and senior students at Georgia Southern University pursuing a degree in Logistics and Transportation. 

 May is Scholarship Month.  All organizations belonging to Transportaton Clubs International across the United States,  Canada and Mexico hold events to raise money for scholarships.
